Pretty in red fruit salad

For the salad
- 1 pound strawberries, hulled and halved or quartered see note
- 2 cups red grapes, halved
- 6 ounces raspberries
- 1 cup pomegranate seeds
- 3 red apples, chopped into bite-size pieces
- 2 red grapefruit, pith removed and chopped into bite-size pieces
For the dressing
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) maple syrup
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) freshly squeezed orange juice
- grated zest of 1 lemon
- 1 tsp cinnamon, or to taste
In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the fruit and toss gently to mix.
In a small mixing bowl, coming the maple syrup, orange juice and grated lemon zest for the dressing and whisk until combined.
Pour the dressing over the fruit and sprinkle with the cinnamon. Toss well to combine, being careful not to bruise or break apart the fruit.
Chill until ready to serve.

If you would like your fruit salad to have a festive Valentine's Day vibe, cut your strawberries in half lengthwise, cut out a small "v" on the wide end and they will look like hearts.
For the dressing, feel free to substitute the maple syrup for honey and / or the orange juice for either freshly squeezed lemon juice or grapefruit juice.
