The chocolate flavour is intense because the cake itself is made with cocoa, it is soaked in a cocoa syrup and the cake is then served with a rich chocolate ganache.

Combine ingredients for syrup and boil. Remove from heat, add in the cocoa powder. Set aside.

Step 1

Mix dry ingredients. Set aside. Mix wet ingredients and combine with dry ingredients. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool. Pour the syrup over the cake.

Step 2

Make the ganache. Heat cream and pour over chocolate. Let sit for 2 minutes. Serve the ganache with the cake.
