A vegan and fruity pick me up, perfect for any time of day
Many people turn to smoothies when they are trying to lose weight, or eat healthier, or feel better about the 3 pieces of bougatsa they had the night before. We get it, and that’s okay. But we’re here to tell you that there’s another reason to enjoy smoothies – because they are delicious! And, they are a fun way to get some fruits, veggies and other goodies into people (kids? husbands?) who may otherwise be less inclined to welcome them into their diet.
We’re looking forward to sharing several of our favourite smoothie creations with you in the coming weeks. First up, we’ve got something very straightforward, and very simple. This is a perfect recipe to start with if you haven’t yet blended into the smoothie crowd (see what we did there?).

We actually first shared this recipe as part of our Nativity Fast Meal Plan‘s additional recipes. Because it uses orange juice as the liquid base, along with some frozen berries and maple syrup as the sweetener, this smoothie is naturally vegan. If you don’t really care about these things, you can always sweeten your smoothie with honey instead of maple syrup.
